About three years ago I had just started a new job and found out pretty quickly that driving to and from work was a frustrating mess. Even although my place of work was only three miles away it was taking up to fifty minutes to get home after a long day of slog. I’ve always loved cycling but hadn’t been out on my bike regularly since I was a kid, so deciding to try cycling to work wasn’t a tough decision at all.
The other reason I decided to give biking to work at go was that I was getting rather rotund, and even although I’d like to think I’m not vain it was starting to trouble me.
Within six months of cycling to and from work I had shed nearly three stone and trimmed my commute down from nearly fifty minutes to just over eleven minutes. What’s not to like about that!
The more I commuted the more I got into cycling; much to my surprise (as much as anyone else’s) I now regularly pop out and cycle 100 miles at a time just for fun!
