Cycling to work, I get an extra 10 minutes in bed. I don’t have to rush to beat the traffic jams.

I only commute 5 miles each way so it’s not the longest ride but it is enough to wake me up properly, so I start work feeling alive and alert.

Going home, similarly I often beat driving colleagues – and luckily working on the edge of Sheffield, if the weather is fine, anything from a 15 to a 35 mile route home on country lanes can be done as the mood takes me – a great post-work stress-buster after a hard day – and healthier than the alternative of sinking 5 pints!
