The Revolution Track Series has, for the third season in a row, grown. The series announced Monday that the 2014-15 season would include six rounds including October and February events in London.
The London rounds will take place at the Lee Valley VeloPark, originally constructed for the 2012 Olympic Games. With a capacity of 6,000, Lee Valley is the largest velodrome to be part of the Revolution Series.
Revolution says that the dates for the London meetings will be held over two nights, each featuring three sessions of racing. Counting each session as it’s own event, the expansion into London increases Revolution’s potential attendance by over 200% from last year.
Revolution held their first event in London earlier this year, finishing off the 2013-14 season with a two day affair there in March. The round was seen to be a success, with French rider Francois Pervis offering his thanks to the “crazy” racing fans who came out to show their support for the sport.
