Felixstowe Skatepark

Felixstowe Skatepark

Felixstowe is probably my favourite Suffolk Skatepark (so far), and I’ve blogged about it before.  It’s really easy to park near (either on the road or in Morrisons car park) and very easy to drive to.  At the moment it’s impossible to find on Google Maps so I’ve dropped the location pin as close as possible to where the park is.  In short park near Morrisons Supermarket then scramble up the grassy bank behind the church and you’ll find the skate park located between two large grass banks.

I tend to do most of my skating before 11am so couldn’t tell you what the park is like at peak times, although a quick search on YouTube reveals lots of scooter and BMX videos.  I’ve only seen other humans at Felixstowe Skatepark once, and they were two teenage BMX riders who were very friendly, and respectful of the fact I was there with my daughter.

I really love Felixstowe Skatepark, mostly because it’s pretty much all banks and transitions.  In fact this Skatepark is my ‘go to’ park for a nice a bit of private practice.  At Felixstowe I can happily fall of my arse to my heart’s content.

I’ve included two of the videos I make that I use to keep track of my progress.  They’re not made for public consumption but might give you a better idea of what Felixstowe Skatepark has to offer.

Ignore the lack of talent in these photos, just soak up the concrete. Skating this park in the wet was a mistake.
