Woodbridge is a popular town for many reasons, and has a lot to offer to both its residents and those who visit. There are plenty of great places to eat and drink to choose from and an interesting range of shops in the town centre. The Riverside Theatre has been entertaining young and old for for many years, and the town also has plenty to offer music fans. Did you know that Woodbridge is home to the oldest brass band in East Anglia? Known as ‘The Excelsior, the Woodbridge brass band was formed in 1846.
As well as having plenty to do indoors Woodbridge is also popular because of the outdoor spaces it has to offer. In additional to several well-kept parks there are also sports clubs for football, badminton, bowls, cricket, running, swimming, rugby and archery.
The most dominant of the glorious outdoor spaces in Woodbridge is the huge river that flanks this Suffolk town. The wildlife that calls Woodbridge home is diverse and fascinating. The Deben at Woodbridge hosts several sports clubs and is popular with a lot of people who enjoy messing about on the river. It’s this watery aspect of Woodbridge that we focus on today.
