Originally written as a quote for an article being put together by Howard Freeman of IP1 Magazine in March 2010. The ‘DIY’ refers to the music/ creative industries.
DIY is less a choice and more a necessity – until mass media loses the yoke of commercialism and starts to follow art and truth for their own worth we’ll always need our underground network. DIY is about failing to find what you want, and being driven (by whatever) to create/ deliver it yourself. DIY is because the world is made shit by a handful and forced glorious by the majority.
