I jammed a 35mm film in my medium format ancient Kodak Duaflex. It looks like I didn’t put enough gaffer tape on the red window on the back of the camera body! The subject of the first photo is quite perfectly my sister, I often get that look from her when faffing about with cameras! This is also the first bit of negative I’ve scanned on my new Epson 4490 scanner, I want to get some glass so I can make my own negative holder so I can get the full frame, shooting 35mm in a medium format camera means the entire width of the frame is exposed. As you can probably tell I’ve done no post process on this!
Aaaigh!!! That’s no fault on the film, that’s Pugsey’s evil eye! He’s inflicting his wicked powers on us all! Nooooe!!
Etc.
Gaffa tape probably isn’t ideal as it’s sort of woven. Use black PVC electrical insulating tape, a couple of layers of that will sort it out.
I’ve taped card and three layers of gaffa tape for the third film. I’m now scanning the first film I shot, silly excited now I’ve figured out how I can use glass from a picture frame (thanks Graham!) to scan anything on the scanner bed, balls to adapers!
I’ve got a film scanner somewhere I think….do you want to take it off my hands?
That’s awesomely kind of you but I’m all sorted with my new Epson now!
i love the result!too hard on yourself. I made that mistake as well on my first shot, now i tape the inside and outside. ANd one layer of black insulator tape won’t work. Need two! TWO!! those damn red windows are stubborn!
