Evening Star
In yesterday’s Evening Star columnist Wayne Savage wrote a nice piece giving his support to our website and encouraged the good people of Ipswich to get involved and have their say. This sort of media coverage is really useful as it portrays what we’re trying to achieve in a positive and accurate way – Wayne Savage appears to have perfectly grasped the fact we’re opening a discussion rather than stoking up a campaign.
Wayne’s ‘Savage’ column discussed the need for any Arts Centre that might result from these discussions to cater to all community groups rather than just musicians, which echoes the thoughts of several folk who have posted in our forum.
Mr. Savage goes on to compare the possible need Ipswich has for not-for-profit/ not-for-loss with the success such ventures enjoy in other towns:
‘Other towns have similar venues; I’ve spent many a great night out watching all kinds of stuff at Norwich Arts Centre for example. Close to the city, independently run with charitable status and offering quite a range of performing and media arts, it’s the perfect model of what could be achieved with the right people attached.’ says Wayne.
