GREAT BRITISH STEAM TRAINS
Before the axe fell in the 1960s, steam trains ruled the world. Great British Steam Trains tells the story of these giants from the day the first steam engine was invented, through the development of amazing locomotives that broke all records, to the beautiful trains still with us today.
The enthusiasm for steam locomotives of the past never ceases to amaze. These huge rumbling beasts can be seen on preserved lines all over the UK thanks to the commitment of thousands of volunteers who turn out, rain or shine, to give us the pleasure of seeing classic engines puffing their way across the countryside once again.
Packed with beautiful, high-quality images and informative, entertaining text, this book is essential reading for every steam train enthusiast.
This book was previously for sale at Margot’s Books. The shop is now closed — this post is kept as an archive record only.
