This is where I keep information about my stage name or pen name, Andrew Culture.

Where did my ‘Andrew Culture’ name come from?
I’m very open about the fact that my real name is not Andrew Culture; it’s quite clearly a pen name and a stage name- a of nom de plume.
Where did the name Andrew Culture come from? It’s pretty simple, many years ago, I was playing in a band in Ipswich called Junk Culture, And it was quite common at the time for people to take their second name from the name of the band they were in.
There were lots of other people called Andrew playing in bands locally, and it was easier to be described as Andrew Culture because that way, when people referred to me, they knew not only my name, but also which band I was in.
I still like the idea of having a signifier like part of your band name as a part of your pen name; it’s a little bit like having an address as a part of your name. Or even better, it’s very similar to the way that people choose their names in the Iain M Bank Sci-Fi books.
I feel the need to point out that I didn’t choose my nickname; I still think it’s odd when people choose a nickname.
I can’t say for definite that I will always use this name, but it just became the way that people knew how to find me. So, for now, it stays.
